The late Easy E made a posthumous return as a hologram at Rock the Bells concert in San Bernardino on Saturday (Sept. 7th). E performed on stage alongside his protégé’s Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and former NWA crony DJ Yella. The rapper performed Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on what would have been his 50th birthday.
Easy E’s son, Eric Wright Jr., admitted that he was skeptical at first of how the organizers were going to pull it off but after watching his late father’s virtual performance, he was happy that audiences had a chance to notice how Eazy was such an influential figure in hip-hop.
“I was nervous to see what it is,” Wright Jr told HipHopDX adding. “I definitely was in the beginning. I’m glad the crowd loved it. [It was a] good reaction. Individuals said they wanted to walk up there and ask him questions. I’m beautiful for the response. It’s a blessing.”
According to billboard, Dj Yella introduced Easy E who appeared onstage and asked the crowd, “What’s Up L.A.?” The group then reunited to jam on songs like "Boyz-n-the-Hood" and "Straight Outta Compton".

Layzie Bone who is also a member of the Bone Thugs-n-Harmony group said that not only was it the eve of E’s death but it was his birthday too. He added that E would have been 50 years old if still lived by now. “Its actually 18 years since we laid eyes on E in the physical. Who would have thought that technology would have moved that fast”. Says Layzie Bone.
